And that’s what this week’s mission is all about!

Weekly Mission # 38

Give Gratitude

We know so many of our followers will now be going through big changes! Some of you graduate high school this year and will be going onto post-secondary schools, or starting a career! A lot of you are going to be seniors at your schools, entering a new school, or maybe joining new sports or scholastic teams next year. There are some really big, awesome changes coming up for you! We are so excited to see all the wonderful things that will happen for you all, and for this week’s mission we want you to thank all of those who have helped you get where you are!  Think back over the year, we’re sure there were some monumental learning moments which helped to make you who you are, and with those moments there were people who stood beside you through thick and thin. Now is the perfect chance to let them know what they mean to you! Write a letter to say thanks, you can write to anyone who helped you overcome an obstacle, pushed you to keep going, or supported you when something positive happened and congratulated you on your hard work! Let them know how they helped you, and how you appreciate all they’ve done!  It’s important to recognize all the hard work you have put for this year to get where you are, but it’s also important to remember we needed some support to get there!

Live Positive

This week we want you to have fun, smile, and laugh, because you have so much to be happy about!  Summer is around the corner and we’re sure everyone has lots of exciting plans and vacations set for this summer break. We know that with spring, comes dreary, grey weather but with the right mind set you can break past those spring time blues and be a ray of positivity on a cloudy day. We, at Celebrate the Hero, know that sometimes it can be difficult to keep a positive perspective at times, but we want to remind you that positive thoughts lead to positive behavior and outcomes. When you’re having an off day, and everything seems to be going wrong take a five minute break and make a list of 10 reasons you have to smile. If you’re bored, and sitting around inside because it’s raining, read some chapters from your favorite book. Self-doubt can also lead to negativity, so next time you feel like you can’t do something, stop yourself and remember that you can. Positive thoughts will often lead to positive outcomes, and we believe that you can achieve whatever you set your mind to, you just have to believe in yourself too! We hope that each of you are able to Live Positive, not just for the week but for the rest of your life, this mission is just the start!

                                                           Recognize Your Accomplishments

As this school year is winding down, and summer break is around the corner, we want you to look back over all of the achievements you have accomplished this year! We know that many of our followers are advancing to the next grade at their school, getting ready to graduate, or perhaps have a new career opportunity lined up! We want you to take the time and remember that the great things that are going to start happening for you, are because you have worked so hard to get where you are!  There are many ways to Recognize Your Accomplishments; you can start a list that you can gradually add too. Remember when you aced that test, or held that door for someone even though you were having an off day! Those are great accomplishments, and nothing is too big or too small. If you feel good about it, then add it! You can create a slide show of pictures from all of the sports games you played in, or that school concert you played in with your band! You can go through old year books with friends and reminisce about your favorite memories from those years. You have already achieved so much, we are so proud of all of you for choosing to make a difference and enhance other’s lives! Keep in mind what you’ve already accomplished, and strive to keep going!

Dare to Dream

We’ve been asking you to make a lot of choices this month, and this week we want you to focus on yourself. You have the capability to do anything you set your mind to, all you have to do is follow through with your goal. We whole heartedly believe that all of our followers are amazing individuals, who work daily to enhance the lives of those around them. This week, we want you to work towards enhancing your lives by daring to dream. Anything you have ever wanted, anything you’re passionate about, this is the week to work towards making it come true. If you’ve wanted to go on a trip with your friends, start saving money each week and set a date. If you want to learn a new language or instrument, sign up for a class! Anyone can have dreams turn into their reality; they just have to commit to them! This week we want you to think about what’s most important to you, and dare to dream!

Weekly Mission # 34

Live With Integrity

Integrity means being honest and having strong principles, and we know that our followers all have integrity! This week we want you to complete simple gestures because in your heart you know it’s the right thing to do- not just because we’ve asked you to. Some examples of what you can do this week is holding the door open for someone (or lots of people if that’s something that you do often!). You can offer to tutor someone in a subject you’re acing, practice with someone on your team who maybe needs to work on their skill or even sit with someone new each day at lunch so that everyone is included.  It’s really up to you; the choice is yours this week. It’s one thing to do something nice for recognition, but it’s so much more rewarding when you just do it just to see someone else smile.  We want you to make the choice to do something nice for a peer, a co-worker, a stranger, a family member, or a friend; because in your heart you know that it’s the right thing to do, not because other people are watching you. Be kind to one another, live your life with integrity, and we guarantee you can enhance the lives of others.

                                    Believe In Yourself!

We at Celebrate the Hero, know that all of our followers are very passionate and driven people, working towards enhancing the lives of others. We want you to know that too! Self-confidence is something that takes practice, you have to choose to believe in your abilities! Everyone experiences doubt, but the important thing is to make sure that it never stops you from doing what you want to do. When you think you’ve gone as far as you can go, keep pushing. Great things can come from breaking out of your comfort zone. All you have to do is set a goal and follow through! This week we encourage you to push the envelope and do something you’ve always wanted to, or step up your game! When you’re writing your exams, or setting up to take a shot remember that you can do what you put your mind to! You’re in the position you’re in because other’s believe in you, all you have to do, is believe in yourself!

Weekly Mission # 32

Learn From Your Mistakes

To err is human, as the old adage goes and we all definitely make mistakes! Mistakes create amazing learning opportunities and allow us to grow from each lesson. We hope that this week you are able to take accountability, and take steps to learn from each choice you’ve made in your life so far, good and bad! If there was a falling out between you and your friend, you can try to make amends by writing him, or her, a letter apologizing. If you failed a test, take steps such as studying, or asking for extra help from your teacher to ensure that you don’t fail the next one! We want you to know that it’s okay to make mistakes, but you also have to learn from them to help prevent history from repeating itself and making the same mistake twice, or more! Like any choice, this one is up to you, but we strongly encourage you to do what you can to learn from your mistakes, all it takes is admitting that a mistake was made and creating a plan to avoid it from happening again!

Weekly Mission #31

LOL

Being positive is a choice! What better way to get involved in your own life, than choosing to be happy! This week, we want you to Laugh Out Loud when something makes you happy! Laughter is absolutely the best medicine, and it’s contagious! When you know someone is down, try cheering them up by telling jokes or funny stories that have happened to you! Love Out Loud; show everyone in your life that they mean so much to you! Sometimes it’s nice to be reminded that you’re needed, and your family and friends will really appreciate the small gestures you can do to show you care! You can Love Out Loud by showing people you don’t know kindness too! Ask your school to post Anti-Bullying posters around the school, or offer to help someone who is struggling in a class that you do well in! You can hold the door open for people at school, or wherever you go today! You can write positive messages on sticky notes and post them everywhere you go! No matter what you do make sure you Live Out Loud! You have the ability to make someone’s day brighter, and in turn make yours brighter as well, all you have to do is make that choice! Live every day to the fullest and you can enhance the lives of so many people, without even meaning to!

As you already know this month’s theme is “Get Involved”, but Earth Day is also upon us! We challenge you to make this week Earth Week and participate in this week’s challenge!

Weekly Mission # 30

Go Green

How earth conscious are you on a regular basis? Well, this week we want you to up the ante! There is so much that we can do to be green, and we want you to get involved in helping to clean up our environment! Instead of buying a case of plastic water bottles, you can purchase a reusable filtered water bottle! Bring your old cellphones to any cellphone service providers so that they are able to dispose of the electronics safely. Switch your banking statements, cellphone, and internet bills to paperless to preserve paper! Turn off lights when you leave rooms to save electricity, and don’t leave taps running when you are not using the water! Another way you can Get Involved is by organizing a Trash Bash! You can gather a group of friends to host your own trash pick-up party, you can enlist your whole school, or you can initiate your whole town/city to participate in cleaning up our planet! Grab a few people, some garbage bags, gloves and help keep our planet clean and garbage free, and afterwards celebrate with your friends. You deserve it for putting forth an effort to be green! We hope that you have lots of ideas planned for how to participate in Earth Day, and don’t forget that you can continuously be conscious about these things, not just for one day but for the whole year!

We hope you share some of that enthusiasm for this week’s mission!

Weekly Mission # 29

Together We Can

We know that as individuals, you are all exceptional in your efforts to enhance the lives of others. Through recent missions, we have asked you to commit your time to helping out within your community, and committing to it! Now we want you to rally the troops and make a difference together! When it comes to community service, the more the merrier! Now that you know how much of a difference lending some of your time can make, share that feeling of accomplishment with your friends. There are so many positive benefits of being on a team, working towards one common goal and enhancing the lives of others. You can create a club at school to help end bullying, host a “trash bash” and pick up garbage in a local park, help develop a fundraiser for a not-for-profit agency in your community, or offer to mow lawns around town! It can even be as simple as making a trip to a senior’s residence once a month! We hope that you and your friends come up with unique activities for you to “Get Involved” in your community!

Weekly Mission # 28

Volunteer

This week’s mission is so simple; all you have to do is set aside a certain amount of time from your busy schedule to become a part of something. You can volunteer your time to local organizations, school events, or clubs. You can volunteer to help a teacher, neighbour, or parent. Volunteerism can even include creating posters within your school supporting empowering initiatives. A lot of not-for-profit agencies rely on the volunteer base that they have. You can help support services in your community by allotting a certain amount of time a week. A little can go a long way, and all of your efforts are appreciated!

Weekly Mission 27

Give It Your All!

Last week’s challenge was to do what you said you wanted to do, or to commit to something. This week we want you to give it all you’ve got! When a task is only done half-heartedly it is easy to tell, this week’s mission gives you the opportunity to really work for it. The results may be better than you expected! If you wanted to try out for a team, practice beforehand so you know that you’re ready and feel confident in yourself! Is there an award you’ve always wanted to receive? The harder you work to reach your goal; the greater chance you have to succeed! If there’s a promotion at work that you’ve really wanted, you can finish each task you’re given to the best of your abilities, to really stand out! When you put your full effort into something it is very noticeable. Sometimes it is easy to settle for “good enough”, but we want you to push past that this week and show us the great things you are capable of! Give it your all.

                                               Walk The Talk

It is one thing to say you’ll commit to something, but it’s a whole different ball game to follow through on your word! We know that with your busy schedules that it’s hard to fit in everything you’d like to do, but we challenge you to try, by taking part in this week’s mission! If you thought about trying out for a school play or sport, sign-up and follow through! Is there a test coming up, and you’ve been telling yourself all week that you have to study? Skip going out with your friends or watching TV and make sure you do everything you can to ace that test. Even if what you attempt to do isn’t successful, you will know that you gave it your all, and you can’t succeed without trying first! If there’s a fundraiser coming up, write down a goal amount that you’d like to raise and commit to it! The possibilities for this mission are endless, and there’s so much more validity in following-through on your word. If you say you want to do something, whether it is to someone else or if you’ve just been thinking about it to yourself, go for it! Lead the way and show others that you take accountability for what you say by taking part in this week’s mission and walking the talk!

Choose To Make A Difference

We, at Celebrate the Hero, know that all of our followers are Heroes! We know that each day you strive to make a positive difference, in a step to enhance the lives of others. We want you to keep on doing what you’re doing, but step it up a notch! We’re so proud of all of the e-mails and tweets we receive about organizations that schools are involved with, or fundraisers that businesses are helping to support. We hope that you take part in this week’s mission, and that you to choose to make a difference, and spark something great! It’s easy to say that you want to make a difference, but taking those first steps can be hard! Sign up for a club you know needs more members to keep it running, or create a new club or group at school that will help benefit your peers or community! You can start volunteering with an agency, or walking dogs at a local animal shelter! Small gestures can have great impacts too! If you notice that someone is mistreating a peer, alert a teacher. Hold the door for as manypeople as you can in one day, and try and beat your record the next! There are so many ways that you can choose to make a difference, and others will be motivated to make a difference too, you just have to lead by example!
